The Liu Zhidong 刘至洞
Paul PengLiu Zhidong (c. 1522) was a native of Tancheng County, Jinan, during the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty. His courtesy name was Yongqian and his literary name was Huiranzi. According to The Genealogy of the Nanwu Taoist School, he enjoyed reading the collected works of Cheng Hao, Cheng Yi and Zhu Xi in his youth, and comprehended the doctrines of Lu Jiuyuan (Xiangshan).
In his middle age, he met Ma Weishan and studied under him as a disciple.
Subsequently, he became the 8th patriarch of the Nanwu Taoist School.
