The Liu Ziyong 刘子颙
Paul PengShare
Liu Ziyong (?–1054) was a native of Kaifeng during the Northern Song Dynasty. He was born with an unusual appearance.
When he grew a little older, he submitted an application to Taiqing Palace and became a Taoist priest there to receive religious instruction.

He abided by Taoist doctrines and was also proficient in medical skills; the number of people he cured was countless.
Emperor Renzong of the Song Dynasty summoned him to the imperial court, conferred on him the title "Grand Master Ningzhen" (Grand Master of Condensed Truth), bestowed a purple robe upon him, and issued an imperial order appointing him as the abbot of Lingquan Guan (Lingquan Taoist Temple). He passed away due to illness in the first year of the Zhihe period (1054).
