The Lü Taijin 吕太晋

Lü Taijin was a native of Changzhou in Gusu (now part of Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province) during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.

His original given name was Zheng; he also had a courtesy name "Youyan" and a literary name "Quanyang".

He became a Taoist Priest at the age of 11. At the age of 22, he received the Chuzhen Precepts (Initial Truth Precepts) from Lü Shoupu. Later, at the age of 15 [Note: There may be a chronological inconsistency in the original text; it is more logically consistent if interpreted as "after the age of 22"], he further received the Zhongji Precepts (Middle Ultimate Precepts), and subsequently the Tianxian Dajie (Great Precepts of Heavenly Immortals). From then on, Lü Taijin devoted himself to rigorous Taoist practice without slacking off.
