The Lyu Yongzhen 吕永震
Paul PengShare
Lyu Yongzhen (?—1866) was a native of Qingzhou Prefecture, Shandong Province during the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty.
His courtesy name was Qianchu, and his Taoist title was Leimingzi (Thunderclap Son).

Origin and Flow of the Supreme Precepts Lineage records: Yongzhen was weak and often ill from childhood but loved reading Taoist books. After his mother passed away and was buried, he went to Qinghe Cave in Jining Prefecture to study under Zhang Benzhu as his master.
Several years after becoming a Taoist priest, he wandered to Baiyun Guan (White Cloud Temple) in the capital.
In the fifteenth year of the Daoguang reign (1835), he received the Three Great Precepts from Master Zhang Jiaozhi, a precept-transmitting Taoist priest. He served as a deacon at Baiyun Guan for several years and was later promoted to Supervisor.
In the twentieth year of the Daoguang reign (1840), he traveled south and returned to Xuanmiao Temple in Nanyang, where he was jointly elected as Supervisor by all the Taoist priests.
In the fourth year of the Tongzhi reign (1865), the Taoist community of Baiyun Guan earnestly invited him to go to the capital to preside over precept-transmission ceremonies and appointed him as Abbot.
In the winter month of the same year, he showed signs of passing away. Recalling that Zhang Zongxuan, the Supervisor of Xuanmiao Temple in Nanyang Prefecture, was upright in conduct, clear in mind, a pillar of the Taoist school, and capable of undertaking important responsibilities with noble virtue, he passed on the great Taoist teachings to him. He passed away at Baiyun Guan in the fifth year of the Tongzhi reign (1866).
He was the 18th-generation precept-transmitting master of the Longmen School.
