The Mao Congyi 茅从易
Paul PengShare
Mao Congyi was a native of Kaifeng during the Jin and Yuan dynasties, and his courtesy name was Jinfu.
He initially served in the imperial court after passing the imperial examination (as a jinshi), but later abandoned his family and lived as a hermit wandering beyond the secular world.

He moved wherever he pleased, with no fixed residence at first. Later, when he arrived at Mount Song, he built Shuangqing Xuan (Double Purity Verandah) and Xujing An (Void and Tranquility Hut) to live in.
Mao Congyi was renowned far and wide for his lofty and reclusive lifestyle. Whether they were virtuous or ordinary, young or old, all people admired his Taoist demeanor.
