Meng Daoyang
Meng Daoyang was a native of Pingchang during the Southern Dynasties. He was also known by the given name Yuan, and his courtesy name was Xiaoyuan.
By nature, he was kind and benevolent, and took providing relief and alms to those in need as his duty. He wore simple linen clothes all year round and adhered to a vegetarian diet for decades

In his Daoist practice, he was diligent and meticulous, never showing laziness or weariness. When performing Daoist rituals (such as walking in devotion) and paying respect (to Daoist deities or teachings), he did not shy away from severe cold or sweltering heat.
