Mou Shouqi lived during the Zhizhi period of the Yuan Dynasty (1321-1323).

He held the Taoist sobriquet "Xizhenzi" (Master of Auspicious Truth) and was bestowed the honorific title "Great Master of Cloud-like Harmony and Quiet Virtue" (Yunhe Jingde Dashi).
