The Nine Directions Lamp Liturgy
The author is unknown.
It was probably compiled during the Yuan Dynasty or the early Ming Dynasty. Consisting of one scroll, it is included in the Weiyi (Rituals and Etiquette) category of The Dongzhen Section in the Daoist Canon.

As one of the Taoist lamp rituals, this text states the following: any construction or earth-moving work that offends the Supreme God of Tai Sui or violates the taboos of Tusi will incur disasters. In such cases, one should hold a Taoist ritual and light lamps to worship the Nine Directional Star Lords for blessings and disaster elimination.
The so-called Nine Directional Star Lords are:
- The Great Sage of Zhan Palace, Eastern Three-Green Star Lord;
- The Four-Blue Star Lord of Xun Palace, Southeastern Direction;
- The Nine-Purple Star Lord of Li Palace, Southern Direction;
- The Two-Black Star Lord of Kun Palace, Southwestern Direction;
- The Great Sage of Dui Palace, Western Seven-Red Star Lord;
- The Great Sage of Qian Palace, Northwestern Six-White Star Lord;
- The Great Sage of Kan Palace, Northern One-White Star Lord;
- The Great Sage of Gen Palace, Northeastern Eight-White Star Lord;
- The Great Sage of the Central Palace, Five-Yellow Star Lord.
These Nine Directional Star Lords are arranged in accordance with the trigrams, numerical symbolism and directions of the Nine Palaces.
