The Ning Zhiping 宁志平
Paul PengShare
Ning Zhiping was a native of Tai'an Prefecture (now part of Shandong Province) during the Jin and Yuan dynasties. He held two literary names: "Anxianzi" (Master of Peaceful Leisure) and "Yuanming Dashi" (Great Master of Perfect Illumination).
As recorded in The Stele of Tongdao Guan (Tongdao Taoist Temple), Ning Zhiping studied under Ding Chaoran, who imparted to him all the profound and esoteric knowledge of Taoism. In his daily life, Ning treated people's illnesses using acupuncture and herbal medicine, and all his treatments proved effective.

Taoist practitioners and believers in the local area were all influenced by his virtue and followed his teachings. Later, he built Lingyang Guan (Lingyang Taoist Temple) and Tongdao Gong (Tongdao Taoist Palace), and vigorously promoted the doctrines and traditions of the Quanzhen School of Taoism.
