The Numinous Treasure Golden Register Longevity Audience

The compiler remains anonymous.

It contains the line "Promulgating the imperial calendar for a unified script throughout the realm, ushering in the eternal unity of the illustrious Ming Dynasty", which dates the text to the early Ming Dynasty.
This single scroll is included in the Ritual Norms Section of the Cavern Mystery Division of The Daozang.

The text is divided into three parts: Morning Audience Ritual for Praying for Longevity in the Golden Register Fasting, Midday Audience Ritual for Praying for Longevity in the Golden Register Fasting, and Evening Audience Ritual for Praying for Longevity in the Golden Register Fasting.

All three rituals were performed on the emperor’s birthday, holding the Golden Register Fasting to pray for the emperor’s longevity. They offer blessings for the emperor’s lasting health and boundless immortal lifespan, as well as for peace across the land, favorable weather, and abundant grain harvests for the nation.

The proceedings of the three daily audience rituals are largely identical, all comprising Taoist liturgical rites, paying homage to the master with mindful invocation, reciting divine incantations, beating ritual drums, invoking and proclaiming ritual titles, intoning benedictions, paying homage to the cardinal directions, repentance of sins, subduing demonic forces, the Three Invocations and Three Homages, the Twelve Aspirations, and intoning the Hall-Exiting Eulogy, among other observances.

Most of its incantations and benedictory verses are identical to those in Rituals of the Three Daily Audiences for the Golden Register Fasting, a text compiled by scholars of the Song Dynasty.
