Composed by Jiang Rong'an, a Taoist priest of Maoshan during the Song Dynasty, this work consists of one volume and is included in the Zansong (Eulogy) category of the Dongshen Section of the Daozang (Daoist Canon).
This work uses eighty seven-character quatrains to eulogize the purport of the eighty-one chapters of the Laozi. Blending Taoist and Chan Buddhist ideas, the poems are guided by the tenets of discarding conceptual distinctions, letting go of honor and disgrace, eliminating right and wrong, and returning to the origin and restoring one’s innate nature.
