The Pei Haozhong 裴浩中
Paul PengShare
Pei Haozhong was a native of Langzhou (present-day Langzhong, Sichuan Province) during the Tang Dynasty, and he resided at Yuntai Huadao Taoist Temple.
He practiced the Taoist techniques of fuqi (inhaling vital energy) and ersong (taking pine-based substances—such as pine needles, pine resin, or pine nuts, a common practice in Taoist cultivation for nourishing vitality). His Taoist arts were efficacious: he could expel evil spirits and subdue demons, so people of his time honored him with the title "Zunshi Fuhu" (Venerable Master Who Subdues Tigers).
