The Peng Kang 彭伉
Paul PengShare
Peng Kang (?-421), also known as Peng Kang (with a different character for "Kang"), styled Wuyang, was a native of Lanling (present-day Yixian County, Shandong Province) during the Jin Dynasty.
In his youth, he studied Confucian classics and was recommended as a Xiaolian (a person of filial piety and integrity, a title for candidates in the imperial examination system of ancient China). He served in the Jin court and was promoted to the position of Shangshu Zuocheng (Vice Minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs) after successive promotions. He secretly practiced Taoist methods and later claimed illness to avoid attending court.

He studied under Xu Xun, who imparted secret teachings to him.
In the second year of the Yonghe era of Emperor Mu of the Jin Dynasty (346), he retired from office, moved his family to Yuzhang, and followed True Lord Xu (Xu Xun) closely day and night. From then on, his Taoist cultivation made remarkable progress.
In the second year of the Yongchu era of Emperor Wu of the Southern Song Dynasty (some say the second year of the Yixi era of Emperor An of the Jin Dynasty), he and his whole family ascended to immortality.
During the Zhenghe era of the Northern Song Dynasty (1111-1118), he was posthumously granted the title of "Qianhui Zhenren" (True Man of Hidden Benevolence).
