The Ping Zhongjie 平仲节
Paul PengShare
Ping Zhongjie (? - 345) was a native of Hezhong (present-day Yongji County, Shanxi Province) during the Western Jin Dynasty.
To avoid the chaos of war, he secluded himself in Mount Kuocang, where he studied under Master Song and practiced the method of "keeping one's mind as clear as a bright mirror"
.

After diligently practicing for forty-five years, he attained Tao and ascended to immortality in the first year of the Yonghe era of Emperor Mu of the Jin Dynasty (as recorded in Volume 17 of Lishi Zhenxian Tidao Tongjian [Comprehensive Mirror of the Dao-Practicing Immortals Through the Ages]).
