The Qian Taihua 钱太华

Qian Taihua was a native of Changzhou, Jiangsu Province (another account says Zhenjiang) during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and his literary name was Hanyang.

As recorded in Jingai Xindeng (The Lamp of the Heart at Golden Canopy): "His family had long been engaged in Confucian scholarship. In his youth, he was endowed with extraordinary talent. Later, he converted to Taoism and studied under Master Lü Yunyin, a Taoist precept master, from whom he received the Chuzhen Precepts (Initial Truth Precepts) and was given the name 'Taihua'. He resided at Changchun Palace in Jiashan and further pursued Taoist studies under two masters, Weng Chaoyang and Qiu Yinyang.

Three years later, his mastery of Taoist doctrines and practices advanced further, and he was promoted to receive the Zhongji Precepts (Middle Ultimate Precepts). Upon receiving these precepts, Qian Taihua suddenly achieved profound enlightenment, his mind becoming as calm and still as stagnant water. Subsequently, he was granted the Tianxian Dajie (Great Precepts of Heavenly Immortals). Later, he was sent to take up residence at Changchun Palace in Wuxi, where he expounded Taoist precepts and transmitted the teachings of his Taoist lineage."
