The Qiang Mingzi 强名子
Paul PengShare
Qiang Mingzi was a figure who lived during the late Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties period.
He claimed to have learned the techniques of stretching-contracting, breathing regulation, and body refinement from immortals, and thus compiled and annotated Zhenqi Huanyuan Ming (Inscription on the Return of True Qi), a work in one volume.

His theories regarded "Yi Qi" (the Primordial Qi) as the foundation of spirit, the source of life and nature, and the master of divine brightness. He took "purity, emptiness, and freedom from ulterior motives" as the core principle: if one could achieve a state of "no overthinking and no forced action", return to the unity of Qi, and maintain harmony, all things in the world would naturally align with them.
In addition, the work details health-preserving methods such as breathing regulation, Qi absorption, saliva swallowing, and Daoyin (a traditional Chinese practice combining body movements, breathing, and mindfulness).
