Qin Zhitong (?-1112)

Qin Zhitong lived during the Northern Song Dynasty and was a native of Jin County (present-day Ankang City, Shaanxi Province).
In his youth, he had a sincere admiration for Daoist studies and engaged in the study of major Daoist classics, both internal (focused on inner cultivation) and external (concerning ritual practices and cosmology). He later encountered the Real Person Tai Xu, from whom he received teachings on the "Golden Fluid Elixir" and the "Arts of Seven Returns and Nine Circulations"—core alchemical techniques in traditional Daoism.
