The Scripture of the Supreme Lord Dongyuan on Invoking the Rain Dragon Kings
The author is unknown, but it was presumably composed by Taoist priests of the Dongyuan School during the Tang Dynasty.
Catalogue of Lost Scriptures in the Daozang records a one-volume text titled The Wonderful Scripture of the Divine Incantation of the Dragon Kings of Dongyuan of the Supreme Lord, which refers to this very work. The existing version is included in the "Original Texts of the Cave Mysterious Section" of the Daozang (Taoist Canon).

This scripture is excerpted from the first half of the "Dragon King Chapter" in Volume 13 of The Taishang Dongyuan Divine Incantation Scripture, expounding the method of reciting incantations to summon dragons and ward off disasters. It lists the names of fifty-eight dragon kings, claiming that burning incense and reciting these names for three days and three nights can summon celestial dragons, ensuring that "when there is drought, rain will fall immediately, and even if there is thunder and lightning, no harm will be inflicted in the end".
It further states: if afflicted by heavenly fire, families can write the names of the four sea dragon kings and place them at the four corners of their residences, then burn incense and uphold these names—water dragons will come to protect them. In the face of any disaster, one should set up an altar dedicated to the Nine Dragons and recite this scripture; in doing so, evil auras will dissipate on their own, wars will cease, and peace will prevail under heaven.
