Paul PengShare
Rong Tiyuan was a native of Yanzhou (now part of Shandong Province) during the Jin and Yuan dynasties. He went by the Taoist title "Zhenchengzi" (Master of True Attainment).
He studied under Ma Danyang, learning the core doctrines of inner alchemy practice of the Northern Branch of the Quanzhen School (Complete Perfection School). He had a thorough command of Laozi (Tao Te Ching) and Zhuangzi, and extensively read and studied Taoist and Confucian classics.

He resided at Qinghua Temple on Mount Yishan, and people of his time enjoyed associating with him. During the Zhiyuan era (of the Yuan Dynasty), Emperor Shizu (Kublai Khan) summoned him to the imperial court on numerous occasions to consult him on Taoist doctrines and practices. He was bestowed with a purple robe trimmed with gold and conferred the title of "Zhongzhen Dashi" (Master of Middle Truth).
