The Rongyang 荣阳
Paul PengShare
Rongyang was a native of Dongping (now Dongping County, Shandong Province) during the late Northern Song and early Southern Song dynasties. In his early years, he made a living by selling ink, and people in the market called him "Erlang" (Second Brother).
Later, he met a Taoist priest who gave him guidance. He then practiced Taoism in Shu (the historical name for the Sichuan Basin region). In the first year of the Xuanhe era of Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty (1119), he was summoned to the imperial capital by an imperial edict. He received generous rewards there before returning to Shu.

Rongyang was skilled in the Taoist arts of "yijing bianqi" (transferring vital essence and transforming qi). He could emit "waiqi" (external qi) to practice "zhuyou" (a traditional Taoist healing method that combines incantations, gestures, and willpower) for treating people's illnesses.
During the Shaoxing era of Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty (1131–1162), he passed away at Xiaoma Stream on Qingcheng Mountain.
