Shan Shiyuan was a figure during the Western Han Dynasty.
Volume Seven of The Comprehensive Mirror of True Immortals Through the Ages Who Embodied Taoism states that he studied under #Gui, and later received the methods from Master Dai Meng. Before going to bed at night, he would first read The Internal Classic of the Yellow Court, which enabled one's soul and spirit to refine themselves.
After practicing this method for eleven years, he attained Taoism and ascended to immortality.
