The Shangqing Highest Golden Origin Feathered Chapter Jade Clarity Hidden Script Scripture

As an early classic of the Shangqing School (Higher Clarity School) of Taoism, it was roughly compiled during the Eastern Jin Dynasty.

Originally a chapter of The Dongzhen Jade Clarity Hidden Script Scripture, it was later separated to become an independent scroll and included in the "Zhengyi" (Orthodox Unity) section of the Daozang (Taoist Canon).

The scripture expounds on the methods of using talismans and incantations to subdue demons.

It contains the hidden taboos (secret names) of the Great Demon King of the Northern Emperor and the Demon Kings of the Eight Directions, one piece of "Yuchi Jinxuan Inner Incantation Hidden Text for the Hundred Gods", eight pieces of "Demon-Dispelling Wisdom Incantation Hidden Text", and "Hidden Script Jinxuan Inner Text" (eight talismanic symbols).

It is said that if Taoist priests mentally invoke the hidden taboos of the aforementioned Demon Kings, recite the incantation formulas, and wear the talismanic symbols, they can subdue all demons.
