Shangqing Secret Dao: Nine Essences Returning Radiance, Merging the Spirit, and Supreme True Jade Scripture (Shangqing Mi Dao Jiujing Huiyao Heshen Shangzhen Yu Jing), author unknown.
Judging from its content, it was likely created by Taoist priests of the Shangqing School during the Eastern Jin and Southern Dynasties. It consists of one scroll and is included in the Taixuan Bu (Great Mystery Section) of the Daozang (Taoist Canon).

This scripture falsely claims to be a transmission from Yang Jun (Yang Xi), the Jinqueshangbao Jianxiansiming (Golden Tower Upper Protector, Examiner of Immortals, and Controller of Destinies). Its format is similar to that of Zhengao (True Declarations).
The scripture mainly discusses the method of cunsi (contemplation of deities).
The method involves first focusing one’s thoughts and calming one’s gaze, attracting light and drawing shadows into the two pupils. Then, burn incense and recite incantations while contemplating the Nine Stars of the Big Dipper.
Additionally, one should contemplate the emission of purple qi (vital energy) from the Mingtang Palace (Hall of Light) within one’s body. Guide Taiyi (the Supreme Unity) to the Tianting (Heavenly Court) through the pupils of the two eyes, then bow to Taiyi to pray for longevity and ride the Big Dipper to travel through the empty light.
The scripture states that if one practices this method for nine years, the Supreme Lord Taiyi will descend into one’s body.
