The Shangqing Qisheng Xuanji Jing 上清七圣玄纪经

Shangqing Qisheng Xuanji Jing (The Scripture of the Mysterious Records of the Seven Sages of Shangqing), one of the early classics of the Shangqing School of Taoism, was probably compiled during the Northern and Southern Dynasties (420–589 CE).

It corresponds to the text recorded as "Eight True Ones, Seven Biographies, in Seven Rolls" in Shangqing Dadong Zhenjing Mu (Catalogue of the True Scripture of the Great Cavern of Shangqing).
Today, only a surviving table of contents from the original text remains in the Zhengyi (Orthodox Unity) Section of the Daozang (Taoist Canon), erroneously titled Shangqing Qisheng Xuanji Jing.

Within the entry, it lists works such as Qisheng Zhuan (Biographies of the Seven Sages), Bazhen Zhuan (Biographies of the Eight True Ones), and Erxian Zhuan (Biographies of the Two Worthies). It states that mortal beings who obtain these true biographies and records can ascend to immortality.

The Seven Sages, Eight True Ones, and Two Worthies are all immortals and true beings venerated by the Shangqing School.
