The Shao Qinan 邵启南

Paul Peng
Shao Qinan was a Taoist priest at Xianyuan Palace on Longhu Mountain in Jiangxi during the Jiajing reign period of the Ming Dynasty, and his literary name was Xiaoxi. He was the nephew of Shao Yuanjie.

He followed Shao Yuanjie to the imperial court, where he was first appointed as "Zuozhengyi" (a mid-ranking official in the Daolu Division, which managed Taoist affairs nationwide). Soon after, he was promoted to "Taichang Si Cheng" (a senior official in the Taichang Temple, responsible for imperial rituals and sacrifices).

Before long, he was further appointed as "Zhongxian Dafu" (a honorary official title denoting virtue and integrity) and "Ben Si Shaoqing" (Junior Minister of the Taichang Temple), and was granted additional official robes corresponding to his rank.

Details of his deeds can be found in Records of Longhu Mountain.
