The Shen Songgao 沈嵩高
Paul PengShare
Shen Songgao was a native of Xiushui County, Jiaxing Prefecture, Zhejiang during the Ming Dynasty.
From childhood, he was fond of Taoist doctrines and practices beyond secular life. He once learned the Five-Thunder Magic from Jiang Dafang, and later became a Taoist priest at Qingzhen Guan (Qingzhen Taoist Temple).

During the Chenghua reign of Emperor Xianzong of the Ming Dynasty (1465–1487), Jiaxing suffered a severe drought. Shen Songgao prayed for rain, and his prayer took effect immediately—his Taoist arts thus gained widespread fame at that time.
