Shen Yuanzhi was a figure of the Tang Dynasty.
He traveled extensively across famous mountains, extensively collecting esoteric techniques, and ultimately attained the Dao of internal cultivation for transcending the mortal world.
During the Kaiyuan era (713-741), he was summoned to Kaiyuan Taoist Temple in the imperial capital (Chang'an). He once traveled to the Moon Palace with Emperor Xuanzong of Tang (also known as Emperor Minghuang).
Shen Yuanzhi was proficient in the "Sanwu Forbidden Incantation Method". Later, this method was practiced in Shaozhou and developed into the Southern School of Taoist incantation techniques.
