The Shi Chun 石春
Paul PengShare
Shi Chun was a native of the state of Wu during the Three Kingdoms period.
Baopuzi·Za Ying Pian (The Master Who Embraces Simplicity·Chapter on Miscellaneous Responses) states: Shi Chun was skilled in refining the art of qi circulation and abstention from grains. Every time he circulated qi to treat people's illnesses, he would refrain from eating; once the illness was cured, he would resume eating.

Emperor Jing of Wu heard of his methods, summoned him to the imperial court, and confined him in a room, providing only two or three liters of water. After a year, Shi Chun still looked fresh and cheerful, with his strength as before. Emperor Jing deeply believed in him and then allowed him to return to his hometown.
