The Shi Shen'an 施神安

Shi Shen'an was a native of Yuanhe (now part of Jiangsu Province) during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, and his courtesy name was Zhenjing.
From a young age, he was fond of Taoist teachings. He became a Taoist Priest at Yuanmiao Temple and studied under Hui Yuanmo. Later, he turned to Master Shen Jiancang of Chaozhen Temple as his teacher, learning and practicing the Wulei Zhengfa (Orthodox Law of the Five Thunders, a major ritual system in Taoist magic).

In the 36th year of the Qianlong reign (1771), he served as the supervisor of Yuanmiao Temple; in the 51st year of the Qianlong reign (1786), he took up the post of abbot of the temple. He passed away at the age of 75.
