Shi Yuanpu was a native of Tongchuan in the early years of the Southern Song Dynasty.

In the late years of the Shaoxing era, he studied Taoism under Yang Danjia as his teacher, and built a thatched hut on Nanga Hill in Changning Town. He had a passion for medical skills and used his expertise to save people’s lives.
Every day, he wove a pair of straw sandals, added ten copper coins to them, and hung the bundle on a tree outside his door, allowing travelers to take them freely. He kept this practice going without interruption, whether in bitter cold or sweltering heat.

He passed away peacefully without illness at the age of 88.

In the 13th year of the Zhiyuan era of the Yuan Dynasty (1276 CE), an imperial edict was issued to convert his former residence into Chongyuan Taoist Temple (Chongyuan Guan) to enshrine and worship him.

Ordained at 25 after a dream from the Celestial Master, he has practiced for 25 years under Master Zeng Guangliang. He is one of the curators of this store, which is officially authorized by Tianshi Fu. All items are consecrated at the temple by the resident priest team.
