Su Yuanlang lived during the Tang Dynasty (some sources claim he was from the Jin Dynasty, while others argue he was from the Sui Dynasty). He was also known as Su Yuanming, and his literary name was Qingxiazi (Master of the Azure Clouds).
He was a hermit residing in Mount Luofu. He once imparted Longhu Yuanzhi (The Fundamental Principles of the Dragon and Tiger) to Dong Shiyuan from Mount Tai, and this work was later passed down to subsequent generations.

He authored several works, including Taiqing Shibi Ji (Records on the Stone Wall of the Great Purity), Qingxiazi Baozang Lun (Master Qingxiazi’s Discourse on Precious Treasures), and Longhu Tongxuan Yaojue (The Essential Secrets to Comprehending the Mysteries of the Dragon and Tiger).
