The original text does not specify the compiler.

Judging from the content and writing style, it was presumably composed by a Taoist Priest during the Dazhong reign of the Tang Dynasty.

Consisting of one volume, it is included in the Methods category of the Dongshen Section in The Daozang.

The Sublime Key to Alchemy

The content and text of this book are roughly the same as those of Xuanjie Lu (Records of Suspended Enlightenment) also collected in The Daozang. A comparison between the two works shows that this version is lacking more than 400 characters at the end compared to Xuanjie Lu, indicating they are different editions of the same book.
