The Supreme Jade Dawn Yuyi and Jielin Racing to the Sun and Moon Diagram 太上玉晨郁仪结璘奔日月图

The author of The Supreme Jade Dawn Yuyi and Jielin Racing to the Sun and Moon Diagram (Taishang Yuchen Yuyi Jielin Ben Riyue Tu) is unknown.

According to research, it should be a text of the Shangqing School (Supreme Clarity School) from the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the Southern Dynasties.

Consisting of one scroll, it is included in the Lingtu Lei (Spiritual Diagrams Category) of the Dongxuan Bu (Mysterious Grotto Section) within the Daozang (Taoist Canon).

The text is divided into two chapters: The Supreme Jade Dawn Yuyi Racing to the Sun: Red Radiance Heavenly Text (Taishang Yuchen Yuyi Ben Ri Chijing Ganwen) and The Supreme Jade Dawn Jielin Racing to the Moon: Yellow Radiance Jade Chapter (Taishang Yuchen Jielin Ben Yue Huangjing Yuzhang).

It elaborates on the "Way of Racing to the Two Radiances of the Sun and Moon." It states that by practicing the method of cunsi (visualization meditation) on the divine beings of the Sun Palace and the Moon Palace in accordance with the teachings, one can ascend to the radiance of the sun and moon. This is one of the early Taoist practices of the Shangqing School. Both chapters were already included in the second scroll of The Shangqing Nine True Middle Scripture (Shangqing Jiuzhen Zhongjing), and the text of this book is roughly the same as that in the scripture. Due to the addition of illustrations, it was renamed "Racing to the Sun and Moon Diagram."
