The Sword Immortal Sect 剑仙派

Sword Immortal Sect
Novelists in the Ming and Qing dynasties often wrote about the sword immortals of Taoism, stating that those who succeeded in sword cultivation could achieve the unity of body and sword, wielding it freely. With a streak of white light, they could take an enemy's head from a hundred paces away as easily as reaching into a bag to get something. Chen Yingning's Yangs han 半月刊 (Journal of Promoting Goodness, Biweekly) recorded figures like Liang Haibin as sword immortals.

It is said that the sword immortal's skill involves cultivating the lung metal qi in the human body, applying internal alchemy externally to defend against enemies. Taoist books describe sword immortals as quite extraordinary, and their cultivation methods are very mysterious. It is said that the transmission of the method only allows masters to seek disciples, not disciples to seek masters. Sword immortals can also fly with their swords, their whereabouts unpredictable. Some say they cultivate their own metal qi, while others claim they integrate their own qi with the qi of ancient swords. No works on the cultivation methods of sword immortals are found in the Taoist Canon; only this brief account is recorded for the sake of completeness.
