The Supreme Numinous Treasure Treatise on Ganoderma and Magical Herbs

It is one of the ancient Numinous Treasure Scriptures of Taoism, which was probably compiled during the Southern and Northern Dynasties or the Sui and Tang dynasties.

This text was already recorded in Jiang Shuyu’s Catalogue of Scriptures for Pacifying and Establishing Altars, and also listed as a one-scroll work in Tongzhi·Bibliographical Survey.
The existing version is included in the Zhengyi Section of the Daoist Canon.

The book expounds the techniques of ascending to immortality by taking ganoderma and magical herbs. It enumerates 127 kinds of ganoderma and magical herbs in the text, claiming that taking them can lead to immortality.

For each type of ganoderma or herb, there is a corresponding illustration, accompanied by a short essay introducing its producing area, shape, medicinal properties, functions and other aspects.
