The Supreme Orthodox Unity Talisman for Extending Life and Protecting Life (Tai Shang Zheng Yi Yan Sheng Bao Ming Lu) has an unknown author.
The text mentions Celestial Masters of Orthodox Unity Taoism in the early Ming Dynasty such as Zhang Zhengchang, Zhang Yuchu, and Zhang Yuqing, so it should have been compiled in the Ming Dynasty. It is a one-volume work included in the Zheng Yi Bu (Orthodox Unity Section) of the Daozang (Taoist Canon).

The book claims that Lord Laozi and the Supreme Venerable Sovereign of Longevity, Life Protection and Body Safeguarding, compassionating that all living beings suffer from the three calamities, eight hardships, nine adversities and ten afflictions without liberation, thus imparted this talisman. When people encounter various disasters and adversities, or wish to transcend the spirits of the departed, they may invite Taoist priests of the Three Caverns to burn incense, perform rituals, recite scriptures and wear this talisman. By doing so, they can dispel disasters, eliminate evil spirits, protect their lives and bodies, free themselves from sins and sufferings, and attain eternal peace and tranquility.
The text lists the names of the Vajra Warriors, talismanic diagrams, images of deities, as well as the oaths, credentials and ritual incantations for receiving the talisman.
