The Tai Yi Jiu Ku Hu Shen Miao Jing 太一救苦护身妙经

The author of this scripture is unknown.

Judging from its content and wording, it was presumably composed by Taoist priests during the Sui and Tang dynasties.

It is included in the Text Category of the Cave Mysterious Section of the Daoist Canon.

Attributed to the Primordial Heavenly Venerable delivering the teachings, the scripture proclaims that the Taiyi Lord of Saving the Suffering possesses boundless divine powers and infinite meritorious deeds, and is “ready to save those who call upon him and respond to all beings according to their needs”. If people in the mortal world encounter all kinds of sufferings, they only need to call out and recite the sacred title of “Taiyi Lord of Saving the Suffering”, and the Heavenly Venerable will manifest his form and come to their rescue and protection.
