The Taishang Dongxuan Lingbao Erbu Chuanshou Yi 太上洞玄灵宝二部传授仪

Paul Peng
Taishang Dongxuan Lingbao Erbu Chuanshou Yi (The Rites for Transmitting the Two Parts of the Numinous Treasure of the Cavernous Mystery of the Supreme Oneness), the author of which is unknown.

Judging from its content and language, it seems to have been written by Taoist priests between the Tang and Song dynasties.

It is one scroll and is included in the Zhengyi Section of the Daozang (Taoist Canon).

This text sets forth the rituals and methods for bestowing and transmitting Dongxuan Lingbao Zhihui Dingzhi Tongwei Jing (Scripture of the Numinous Treasure of the Cavernous Mystery: Wisdom, Stabilizing the Will, and Penetrating the Subtle).

The so-called "Two Parts" refer to two sections in that scripture: the "Schematic of the Two Halves for Contemplating the Subtle and Stabilizing the Will" and the "Essential Instructions of the Ten Precepts".

This text includes the text of the schematic, the text of the precepts, and records the rituals and methods for transmission and practice.

See the entry for reference.
