Taishang Dongxuan Lingbao Tianguan Jing (The Scripture of the Heavenly Pass of the Numinous Treasure of the Cavernous Mystery of the Supreme Oneness), the author of which is unknown.
Judging from its content and wording, it is likely to have been composed by Taoist priests during the Southern and Northern Dynasties or the Sui and Tang dynasties.

It consists of one scroll and is included in the Supreme Mystery section of the Daozang (Taoist Canon).
The text first narrates the process of cosmic genesis, which goes through stages such as Taiyi (the Supreme Simplicity), Taichu (the Supreme Beginning), Taishi (the Supreme Origin), and Taisu (the Supreme Purity), after which heaven and earth came into being. The Supreme Lord Laozi is described as the father and mother of primordial qi, the root of heaven and earth, the ancestor of yin and yang, and the ruler of all gods, for "all things are generated and nurtured by him". It also states that above there are the Four Brahmans, the Three Realms, and the Thirty-Two Heavens, while below there are the Cavernous Abyss and the Nine Earths. Between heaven and earth, there are four grades of humans, namely beings of the Desire Realm, beings of the Form Realm, beings of the Formless Realm, and Zhongren (Seed Beings).
The scripture claims that if Zhongren can cultivate Taoist methods, they will ascend to the Three Pure Ones' Dao realm and be freed from samsara forever.
For ordinary people, worshipping the true and reciting invocations to the gods, and submitting their lives to the Heavenly Worthies of the Ten Directions, can enable them to seek longevity.
