The Tao Zhiyi 陶志颐
Paul PengShare
Tao Zhiyi was a native of Yuci (now part of Shanxi Province) during the Jin and Yuan dynasties.
According to Shanxi Tongzhi (Comprehensive Records of Shanxi), Zhiyi held the Taoist title "Yinzhenzi" (Master of Hidden Truth).

In his childhood, he became a disciple of Taoist Master Zhang and formally entered Taoism. Master Zhang taught him the methods of "xiuzhen lianxing" (a Taoist practice of cultivating spiritual perfection and refining one’s character to attain enlightenment).
When he grew up, he traveled to Yanjing (now Beijing), where he paid homage to Taoist Master Wang Qiyun. He studied and verified Taoist doctrines under Master Wang before eventually withdrawing from secular life to live in seclusion.
He lived to the age of 90.
