Thunder Method Sect
The Thunder Method Sect is a Taoist school that combines internal alchemy (neidan) and talismans (fulu). It advocates "cultivating the elixir internally and applying the methods externally": practitioners can use talismans to summon thunder generals, and through the resonance between the qi of their own five internal organs and the qi of the five elements of heaven and earth, they can call wind and rain, and command ghosts and spirits. Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty was fond of Taoist talismans; he had nine imperial attendants who were skilled in performing thunder methods.

Schools such as the Shenxiao (Divine Firmament), Qingwei (Pure Subtlety), and Tianxin (Heavenly Heart) all belong to the Thunder Method Sect of Taoism.

The Thunder Method takes internal alchemy as its foundation and talismanic magic as its application. It is effective in subduing demons and catching ghosts, refining and delivering the souls of the dead, summoning deities to expel evil, and bringing forth clouds and rain.
