Precious Repentance Ritual of Zhenwu’s Responsive Protection for the World, Disaster Dispelling and Sin Elimination

Judging from the textual content, it should have been compiled during the Song Dynasty.

Consisting of one scroll, it is included in The Daozang (Taoist Canon), under the Benwen Category of the Dongshen Section.

This work falsely attributes to Yuanshi Tianzun (Jade Pure Heavenly Worthy) an address delivered to True Immortal Miaoxing, stating: "Always bear in mind that all sentient beings dwell in a world of the three poisons and ten evils, afflicted by evil spirits such as the Demon Kings of the Six Heavens and the Plague Chiefs of the Five Offices."

The Heavenly Worthy then commanded the divine generals of Zhenwu of the North to patrol all heavens, record good deeds, punish evil acts, uphold justice and eliminate wickedness.

He further revealed a method for dispelling disasters and averting misfortunes, declaring that if sentient beings consistently burn incense, observe vegetarian fasts on days such as the Three Yuans, Eight Festivals, Jiazi and Gengshen, wholeheartedly pay homage to the forty-nine Responsive Heavenly Worthies of the North with sincere devotion, and repent for their transgressions, they can eliminate all sins and avoid hardships.

Parts of the text are identical to those in Supreme Lord’s Scripture of the Divine Incantation of Zhenwu, the Great Sage of the Mysterious Heaven and His Original Deeds.
