Collated with reverence by Zhu Gui (courtesy name Shijun) of Daxing, and revised by Jiang Yupu of Suiyang.

As one of the early annotated versions of The Treatise on the Hidden Virtues, this book provides brief explanations for each line of the original text, and frequently cites historical figures and legendary stories as illustrative examples.

The latest historical events and figures cited in its anecdotes date back to the Kangxi reign period of the Qing Dynasty. This work is included in the Daozang Compilation Essentials collection, and is also categorized under the Precepts and Morality Books Section of the Non-canonical Taoist Texts.

Paul Peng

Paul Peng is a Zhengyi Taoist priest from Longhu Mountain, Jiangxi — the ancestral home of the Celestial Masters' tradition. Ordained at 25 after a dream from the Celestial Master, he has practiced for 25 years under Master Zeng Guangliang. He is one of the curators of this store, which is officially authorized by Tianshi Fu. All items are consecrated at the temple by the resident priest team.
