Wang Chang was a figure of the Eastern Han Dynasty.

Han Tianshi Shijia (Genealogy of the Han Celestial Masters) and Volume 10 of Lishi Zhenxian Tidao Tongjian (Comprehensive Mirror of the True Immortals Throughout History Who Embodied the Dao) state that he studied Taoism under Zhang Daoling at Yunjin Mountain, learned astronomy, mastered the teachings of Huangdi and Laozi, carried books while walking and singing, and stayed to serve the True Person (Zhang Daoling) by his side.
Through accumulating merits and practicing virtues, he later attained the Dao and became an immortal together with the True Person.
