The Wang Dangui 王丹桂

Paul Peng
Wang Dangui was a native of Lizhou (present-day Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province) during the Jin and Yuan dynasties.

According to the fifth volume of Changchun Daojiao Yuanliu Kao (Textual Research on the Origin and Development of Taoism of the Changchun Sect), Wang Danguan had the courtesy name Changling. He became a Taoist practitioner by studying under the Taoist master Ma Danyang.
He lived in seclusion in Shenqing Cave on Kunyu Mountain. Ma Danyang bestowed upon him the Taoist title "Baiyunzi" (Master of White Clouds).

He authored Caotang Ji (Collection from the Thatched Cottage), which was circulated among later generations.
