The Wang Ke 王柯

Wang Ke (?–678)
Wang Ke was a native of Qingcheng Hengyuan (present-day Guan County, Sichuan Province) during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty. His courtesy name was Xianke.
His family was extremely wealthy, yet they were fond of helping the poor and needy. Later, he encountered an extraordinary person who taught him alchemical formulas. He resided in a cave to practice alchemy for several years but achieved no success at all. Thus, he became a disciple of Luo Gongyuan from Xifeng (Western Peak) and served Luo while he refined elixirs for three years, never wavering regardless of hot summers or cold winters.

Gongyuan praised his resolve and imparted esoteric secrets to him.
It is said that in the third year of the Yifeng era of Emperor Gaozong (678 CE), Wang Ke successfully refined the elixir, fulfilled his spiritual cultivation goals, and ascended to immortality.
