The Wang Zhida 王志达

Wang Zhida (1150-1210) was a native of Yan'an during the Jin Dynasty. His Taoist title was "Xuantongzi" (Master of Mysterious Penetration).

In the 17th year of the Dading era (1177), he went to Zhongnan Mountain and became a disciple of Ma Danyang (one of the core disciples of Quanzhen Taoism's founder Wang Chongyang). Several years later, Ma Danyang imparted to him the essential principles of Taoism. Wang Zhida then left Zhongnan Mountain to reside in Yunyang County, where he engaged in silent meditation and Taoist cultivation for 13 years before returning to Yan'an.
In the 2nd year of the Da'an era, he passed away due to illness at the age of 61.

He authored The Collection of Xuantong (Xuantong Ji), which was circulated in the world.

He had more than a hundred disciples.
