The Wei Boyang 魏伯阳
Paul PengShare
Wei Boyang was a native of Shangyu in Kuaiji (present-day Shangyu District, Zhejiang Province) during the Eastern Han Dynasty.

It is said that his given name was Ao, with the courtesy name Boyang, and he also had the Taoist title Yunyazi.
According to the preface of Zhouyi Cantongqi Fenzhang Tongzhenyi (Annotations to the Zhouyi Cantongqi with Chapter Divisions and True Meanings) by Peng Xiao, he was born into a prominent family and was fond of practicing alchemy and Taoist methods.
He wrote Zhouyi Cantongqi (The Book of Changes and the Unity of the Three) and Wuxianglei (The Five Categories of Similarities). These works integrated the studies of the I Ching, the doctrines of Huangdi and Laozi, and took furnace alchemy as practice to elaborate on the theory of elixir Taoism. They became the foundational works of early Taoist alchemy, later revered as the "King of Alchemical Classics," and exerted a significant influence on Neo-Confucianism in the Song Dynasty.
