Paul PengShare
Wu Chongyue was a native of Quanzhou (now part of Fujian Province) during the Northern Song Dynasty.
He became a Taoist priest at Longxing Guan (Longxing Taoist Temple) and practiced the arts of fuqi bigu (breathing exercises to avoid eating grains) and shoujing lianqi (gathering the essential vitality and refining qi). He was light and agile in body, and often resided on the tips of pine trees.

During the Taiping Xingguo period of the Song Dynasty (976-983), he was ordered to enter the imperial court for an audience, and was granted the title "Mr. Tongyuan".
