The Wu Shiguang 毋始光
Paul PengShare
Wu Shiguang
Wu Shiguang was a native of Yishi County during the Northern Wei Dynasty (now Linyi County, Shanxi Province, China). From a young age, he devoted himself to studying the Confucian classics (referred to as "ancient books" in traditional terms) and also sought knowledge extensively in the field of astronomical divination (which interprets celestial phenomena and constellations to predict earthly events).
He studied under Niu Wenhou, learning and reciting the essential ideas and profound truths of the Tao Te Ching (commonly known as the "Five-Thousand-Character Classic," the foundational text of Taoism attributed to Laozi).

From this point onward, he not only recited the Taoist teachings verbally but also practiced them in his daily life—his words and deeds were in accordance with the principles of the Dao, and he applied the wisdom of ancient Taoist sages to navigate contemporary affairs.
